Case Study 1: Anya Sharma - Mastering Panel Layout and Pacing

Anya Sharma, a recent graduate of our "Sequential Art Fundamentals" program, initially struggled with creating dynamic panel layouts that effectively conveyed pacing and emotion. Through targeted exercises and constructive feedback, Anya learned to strategically utilize panel size, shape, and composition to control the reader's experience. Her final project, a short comic about a struggling street artist in Mumbai, demonstrates a masterful understanding of visual storytelling, effectively capturing the energy and atmosphere of the city. Before and after examples of Anya's panel work are shown below.

Case Study 2: Ben Carter - Developing a Unique Visual Style

Ben Carter, a participant in our "Character Design and Illustration" workshop, came to PanelVerse Studios with a solid foundation in drawing but lacked a distinctive visual style. Our instructors guided Ben through a series of exercises designed to explore different artistic influences and experiment with various techniques. He was encouraged to draw from his personal experiences growing up in Bangalore, India, and incorporate elements of traditional Indian art into his work. As a result, Ben developed a vibrant and expressive style that blends Western comic art conventions with Indian aesthetics. His work now stands out for its originality and cultural richness. View his transformation below.
